Mallorca Nightlife

Tourist Info

With some 200 discos and music bars scattered throughout the city and across the island, Majorca's nightlife is never hard to find. The cobble streets of the old town are jammed with restaurants and bars. The section of the Passeig Maritim known as Avinguda Gabriel Roca is a nucleus of taverns and pubs, the most popular of which are Pacha, Tito's, and Ib's. The most incandescent hot spots are concentrated 6 km (4 mi) west of Palma at Punta Portals, in Portals Nous, where King Juan Carlos I moors, his yacht along with many of Europe's most beautiful people.

Try Flannigan's, Tristan (the best and most expensive), and Diablito, a pizza emporium. In Palma, the Placa de la Llotja and surrounding streets are the place to go for copas (drinking, tapas sampling, and general carousing. Darsena is beside the water with great harbor views. Carrer Apuntadores, on the Born's west side, is always lively at night. Some of Palma's best jazz acts play the small, smoky jazz club Barcelona on weekends. Abaco offers baroque music amid flowers and fruit. Bluesville is a laidback, grunge-style bar popular with both locals and foreigners.

Groove to live funk on Thursday, rock and blues on Saturday. The elegant Wellies Pub has a great view of the marina and does great fish-and-chips. Magalluf's gargantuan BCM Planet Dance is the top disco, with a pan-European crowd. Palma's casino is on the harbor promenade. There's a nominal entry charge, and you'll need your passport (and a shirt and tie) to enter.

Thanks for adding to wonderful holiday. Your site was so easy to use - and it worked. Our car was ready and waiting, and a better quality than we expected. Will definately enquire next time we are abroad.
